What is the refundable deposit for?

We take a £70 refundable deposit, this covers any damages, breakages, additional cleaning and excess electricity usage.  100 units of electricity are included free with your holiday, any additional units over 100 will be charged at 20p per unit.  Your deposit will be refunded once the chalet has been checked and will be refunded no later than 7 days after the end of your holiday.                                                                                                                

Are we allowed to have barbecues in the village?

Barbecues are not allowed anywhere in the village. This rule is enforced out of consideration for those visitors who don’t enjoy the smells or sight of barbecues, and for the safety of all the village’s visitors.

Do you accept groups in Widemouth View?

Widemouth View itself is equipped to accommodate six people, so we certainly do welcome mixed-gender and / or family groups. We also welcome same gender couples / families. We regret, however, that we do not accept any same-gender groups. This is also the policy of the village owners, so you will not find stag or hen parties happening anywhere within the site.

Do you accept dogs in Widemouth View?

Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs in or near Widemouth View.

You may occasionally see dogs being walked in or around the village. These belong to people whose holiday bungalow is kept for their own private use.

How close to the shops in Bude is Widemouth View?

Bude town centre is approximately four miles away, and has both the usual shops you see in any town in Britain, and individually-owned shops, all selling a huge variety of goods. There is a small branch of Sainsbury’s in Bude town centre, about five miles away, at Stratton there are also Morrisons and Lidl stores.

There is an on-site shop in the village’s communal area where you will find the essentials, but please note it does not sell newspapers.

Is bed linen supplied?

Yes, bed linen and pillows are provided and comprises sheets, pillowcases, duvets and duvet covers. There are blankets for those guests who feel the cold in bed! The beds are made up for your arrival.  We do not provide personal towels, but you will find tea towels in the kitchen.

Can I stay in Widemouth View on a longer term basis, e.g. during my house move?

No. The bungalow is strictly for holidays of between a week and three weeks.

How much deposit do you require?

We require a deposit of 25% of the total cost of your holiday at the time of booking, once we have confirmed your required dates are available. This is strictly non-refundable for any reason, so we recommend you take out holiday insurance to cover your circumstances. Insurance is easily and quickly arranged online, with many companies offering keenly competitive premiums.

When is the balance due?

The balance of the cost of your holiday will be due 30 days prior to arrival. This is not negotiable and the keys to Widemouth View will not be given to guests who have not paid for their holiday in full before their arrival.

Do you issue a refund on cancellation?

No. We do not issue refunds under any circumstances.

We recommend you take out holiday insurance at the time of booking, to include cover for cancellation as well.

What time can I check into Widemouth View, and what time do I have to leave?

Check-in is no earlier than 4pm and check-out is by 10 am. We request you stick to these times so that Widemouth View can be prepared in good time for you and for the guests who follow you.

On arrival, you will find a small welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, and milk, so that you can make a brew and just relax after your journey.

Is Widemouth View accessible for wheelchair users?

Unfortunately, the entrance to Widemouth View, is up four steps, so it’s not accessible for people who use a wheelchair, or who have difficulties negotiating steps.  The site generally is not very wheelchair- user-friendly either, although there is wheelchair access to the clubhouse.
